A smart double from Nathan Fehily for the Martin Gallier Project Division two side Eagle Stirrup gave them a place in the David Keith Tacy Semi Finals after defeating high flying and strongly fancied Maxwell’s Barber Division One outfit Eastham Rangers Colts (Nathan Sunders) 2-1

Kieran Hamm led the way and no doubt another late charge for the Premier Division’s Ryan ‘Gigsy’ Atherton Trophy very similar to last season with a fine hatrick supported by strikes from Joe Dulson, Kyle McGregor, Ben Wood and an og in AFC Dock’s splendid 7-0 win over Wellington FC, Great Float S&S hosted Woodchurch Hotel and were sunk 4-0 in their final game of the season after goals from Sam Collingwood, Ben Holmes, Jordan Deer and Jack McGrotty

Maxwell’s Barber Division One leaders Rig Move FC had the upper hand with a 5-0 resounding win over AFC Shafts, who had Daniel Woodcock, Andy Henry, Ash Wardle, Jamie Eaton and Shaun Weaver on the scoresheet, a Danny France strike was not enough for Basement club Barcode going down 3-1 to Derby Jets thanks to Kev Day, Kieran Wood, and Luke Burns, Rig Move and Derby Jets are 2 of six possible clubs hoping to gain promotion to the Premier Division but just like the grand national the final run is a very long with lots of twists and turns and a few hurdles to be jumped over

Ameel AlGamri notched a double added to a Mark Head effort gave Lions FC their 15th straight league win of the season despite it being the business end of the season there are still many clubs playing catch up and hopeful of being in the mix when the season finally concludes, Storm Kathleen is now causing postponements to a variety of fixtures, 2 games were lost in the Martin Gallier Project Division Two and the hard working fixture secretary will as always find a solution to get the league programme and cup finals games finished, Poulton Victoria backed up their midweek win of 4-1 over Barkers Armchair with a tremendous 9-2 result at AFC Rangers (Sam Burke, Shaun Anderson), Jack Gordon bagged 4 with singles from Ryan Mason, Brandon Burns, Mark Smith, Tom Kendall and Tom Price, Wirral Radio Newton who was one of the victims of Storm Kathleen did manage to record a superb 5-0 win in midweek at Upton Willows with Josh Ross bagging a four timer and coupled with a Suphot Thiamdong goal are one of the clubs who are looking for a late charge up the table, Barkers Armchair resurrected a point after the disappointment of midweek with 1-1 draw against Oval FC thanks to Mark Munt

Game of the day in Division Three saw Feeneys FC take the honours with a narrow 3-2 score at Wirral Athletic completing a league double over them, Ben Hunter with a pair added to a Brad Brady effort while Harry Huggins responded with a brace, Oxton Celtic continue to dominate the division accounting for AFC Tima (Ussumane Jalo) 3-1, Higher Beb Kelma (Adam Clarke 2, Jack Brown 2, Liam Atherton, Lewis Simpson) did their chances of promotion no harm registering a 6-1 scoreline at North Wirral Saints (Callum Salt), a Player of the game performance from Luke Almond enabled Glenavon Athletic to earn all 3points after a solitary goal from Danny Rowlands 1-0 over AFC Raeburn, Athletic VH dented West Kirby United’s chances of promotion with a comfortable 4-0 win

The Houlihan’s Birkenhead Sunday Association Football League are now accepting applications for new clubs to join the League for the 2024-2025 season, a limited number of vacancies are available

We are also accepting applications for the Youth Division for the same 2024-2025 season that is scheduled to start in August 2024, any Youth clubs/teams that wish to enter two teams can do so, one team will be known as Youth U/18’s and a second team is normally known as a Colts U/17’s, please visit the League website for contact details
