Kieran Hamm bagged a four timer for Dock AFC that anchored a place in the Tony Houlihan Memorial Challenge Cup Final after dispatching KRCT Bidston 5-2 in the first semi final, Joe Brandon was also on the mark while Ben O’Neil and Tom Murray replied for KRCT Bidston, Dock now await the winners of the 2nd semi final and are current holders with have 8 previous successes to their name, the 2nd semi final is between Cheshire Cheese or Lancelyn Glenavon as a solitary goal from Joe Downey secured a semi final place for Lancelyn Glenavon at The Maxwell’s Barber Division One side Bushell Athletic in a quarter final tie

The only Game in the Premier Division saw Queens Park earn another maximum point’s haul at Rock Ferry Social 3-1 with Alex Chevera hitting a double supported by Jack Ireland, it now looks like 2 horse race with only Dock who have the best chance of getting near them

Eastham Ranger Colts who have a mammoth task of playing 9 league games to gain promotion to the premier division got back to winning ways with a 3-1 result at AFC Shaftes (Fin Onwuemene) thanks to a couple from Joel Whalley and an Any Rogers goal, Whitby Rangers who have 2 Cup Finals to play have an even bigger task with 10 league games also registered a 3-1 away win at one time strongly fancied Upton Town (Brendan Doherty), Matt Vickers with a brace and Sam Cooper netted for Whitby, Derby Jets who will be in the mix in May kept their home unbeaten run in tact with a strong 4-1 scoreline over Moreton Rovers (Will McGuffie), Cy Sullivan 2, Adam Larway and Kev Day obliged for Jets, no doubt Bushell Athletic have the tallest of orders in the Maxwell’s Barber Division One having 11 league games to fit in and also a semi final

Wirral Radio Newton FC tamed Lions FC holding them to a 1-1 draw the first points of the season dropped by Lions FC in the Martin Gallier Project Division Two , Josh Ross and Tom Povall were on the scoresheet for Wirral Radio and Lions respectfully, a late surge is expected from Eagle Stirrup FC after their latest win 5-1 over local rivals Saughall FC after obtaining revenge from an early season 2-1 reversal, Nathan Fehily and Jamie Scarisbrick both bagged a pair added to a Callum Jones strike, while Kyle Weir-Siggins replied for Saughall FC, Eastham Rangers put a slight dent in Olds Parks quest for back to back promotions with a 2-0 win thanks to Jack Roberts and Martin Marshall, Upton Willows who have a chance to be in the mix had a narrow 1-0 success over Barkers Armchair after Ellis Bolton netted, Oval FC and Woodchurch Rovers FC had a hatrick hero each in an entertaining 5-5 draw, Matt Vaggers score his treble for Oval supported by singles from Michael Simpson and Alex Broadbent while Ryan Thompson bagged his 3 added to Tommy Atherton’s brace for Woodchurch Rovers

Oxton Celtic have almost secured promotion of the Houlihan’s Birkenhead Sunday Association Football League Division Three and just need 3 more point to be elevated to the Martin Gallier Project Division Two after a 3-1 win at Victoria Colts (Ryan Coles), Corey Wilson 2, Lewis Brown2, Jack Brown, Liam Atherton, Tom Weaver and Owen Tomlinson plundered the goals for Higher Beb Kelma in an 8-0 win over promotion hopefuls Wirral Athletic and put Kelma within striking distance of the top three as the top 3 are guaranteed promotion, AFC Raeburn eclipsed West Kirby United (Tom Danby, Henry Martyn) 4-2 in a superb performance after Chris Hynes, Josh Morgan, Daniel Wharton and Austin Nelson all netted for Raeburn, Feeneys FC stayed on course for promotion with a 3-1 verdict at AFC Tima (Lee Burns) after an OG, Much Francis and Adam Walker netting, Glenavon Athletic have hit a fine run of form with 4 straight league wins on the trot with the latest being a 4-3 victory at North Wirral Saints, their marksmen being Danny Rowland, Paul Keenan, Alex Weston and George Wild, it was the same 4-3 away result with Athletic VH taking the honours at Parkgate St Germain (Nial Davidson, Adam Mathew and Ed Bailey

The Houlihan’s Birkenhead Sunday Association Football League are now accepting applications for new clubs to join the League for the 2024-2025 season, a limited number of vacancies are available

We are also accepting applications for the Youth Division for the same 2024-2025 season that is scheduled to start in August 2024, any Youth clubs/teams that wish to enter two teams can do so, one team will be known as Youth U/18’s and a second team is normally known as a Colts U/17’s, please visit the League website for contact details
